A much anticipated, high profile, central London production of the newly authenticated Shakespeare play from a multi-award wining director.

Two contrasting beautiful female protagonists, one low-born and one of higher birth but not aristocratic; and two contrasting leading men, one of modest birth, full of honour and probity and the other an aristocratic villain. An interrupted marriage, a series of mad scenes and a near-rape ensure an action packed evening, much of which may be a lost text by Shakespeare,

“For most of the three centuries since its debut, Double Falsehood; or, the Distrest Lovers has been ridiculed as a hoax or just disregarded. Yesterday that changed when The Arden Shakespeare, one of the best regarded scholarly editions of Shakespeare s plays, published Double Falsehood, endorsing its credentials and making it available for the first time in 250 years” THE TIMES

This production will be the professional modern world premire.

This text, readily available on the internet, contains a host of fantastic roles for young male and female actors with some experience and significant training in classical acting, and a number of small ensemble parts which would suit actors with limited experience hoping to expand their CV.

Unfortunately this is a fringe/profit share production and it also rehearses during the holiday period for an opening in early January so it would be well worth checking you’re free for the rehearsal dates and could afford to work for no money before submitting your CV for consideration.
